Beginning after Spring Break, first graders will begin bringing home a reading log each night they have homework (Mon. through Thurs.) They should record the title of the book they read (15-20 mins as a guideline) at home that afternoon or evening, and have it signed or initialed by a grown-up each day.
The purpose of the reading log is for students, teachers and grown-ups to track each student's out-of-school reading over time, reflect on their reading interests, and further develop the habit of independent reading outside of school.
