One way that students actively explore literacy and math concepts in our class is through work stations. Students rotate around the room (and beyond) through a variety of activities that involve hands-on work such as making, solving, finding, sorting, recording, etc. Work stations allow students to work with a concept or practice a skill in multiple ways. This small group model also allows for targeted instruction that meets students' individual learning goals and needs.
